QALAT (PAN) in the southern province of Zabul, officials said on Thursday.
The arrests came during a predawn raid on a house in the Zozgari area on the outskirts of Qalat, the capital of the province, Zabul police chief, Brig. Gen. Fazal Ahmad Sherzad, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Foreign soldiers raided the house of Haji Ghani at 11pm, a resident of the area, Zahir Shah, said. Five people were detained and a motorcycle burnt by the NATO-led troops, he added.
Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman, Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, claimed the fighters inflicted casualties on foreign troops as a result of a roadside bomb attack in the Maryan area of Mezan, a claim rejected by Gen. Sherzad.
