3 boys killed in Kapisa grenade attack
MEHMOOD RAQI (PAN): Unknown gunmen overnight lobbed hand grenades into a house in the Tagab district of central Kapisa province, killing three young boys and injuring as many others, an official said on Monday.
The youth had gathered in a house to celebrate Eidul Azha when unknown gunmen threw hand grenades in the Seh Padra village last night, the district chief, Abdul Hakim Akhunzada, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Three boys were killed and three others injured in the incident, he said.
Relative Ahmad Hassan said the victims were all cousins and had no prior enmity with anyone.
The district chief said the injured were being treated at a heath facility of the French Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT). One of them is in critical condition, Akhunzada said, adding security forces had launched a search operation to arrest the attackers.
A Taliban spokesman in the region, Haroon Sapi, condemned the incident.
