SHIBERGHAN (PAN): Projects, including clean drinking water supply schemes and a road, have been completed in northern Jawzjan province, an official said on Monday.

Implemented under the National Solidarity Programme (NSP), the projects took six months to complete and would benefit around 1,600 families, Rural Rehabilitation and Development Director, Eng. Mohammad Yusuf Sayed, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The projects included 336 water tanks, 5 wells, the graveling of a seven-kilometre road in Yaka Chenar, Khatai Sai and Amir Ali Sher Nawayi villages.

Sayed said each water tank had the capacity of storing 6,000 litres of water.

Akhtar Mohammad, a resident of Khatai Sai village, said 115 water tanks were constructed in their village, providing drinking water to 320 families.
