Bomb-rigged car seized in Lashkargah
LASHKARGAH (PAN): An explosives-laden car has been seized by intelligence operatives in Lashkargah, the provincial capital of southern Helmand province, an official said on Tuesday.
Deputy provincial National Directorate of Security chief, Mehmood Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News they had prior information that a vehicle carrying explosives would enter the city.
The vehicle was detected and seized this afternoon, he said, adding the driver had abandoned the vehicle in the Toor Tank area after it developed some technical fault.
Khan said that a huge terrorist bid had been foiled with the seizure of the bomb-rigged car. An investigation had been opened to arrest the fleeing driver, he said.
