KABUL (PAN): Two children lost their lives while six others were injured in a mortar shell explosion in the Behsud district of eastern Nangarhar province on Friday, the interior ministry said.

Apparently from the war era, the shell went off in the Ali Akhunzada area of the district at 9am when the children were playing nearby, a statement from the ministry said.

It added the injured were shifted to the Nangarhar Civil Hospital, where two of them are said to be in critical condition.
