Karzai promises jobs for educated Kuchis

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): President Hamid Karzai on Thursday said his government had taken necessary measures to create job opportunities for educated Kuchiinfo-icon tribesmen in government departments.

Karzai was talking to a delegation of Kuchi tribesmen at the Presidential Palace in Kabul, the presidential spokesman's office said in a statement.

The delegation urged the president to give government jobs to educated Kuchi men and pay attention to their educationinfo-icon, healthinfo-icon and residential problems.

Speaking on behalf of his tribe, Alwak Kakozai said Kuchis should be given enough representation in provincial councils and a special quota in elections on at the zonal level.

Karzai assured that their problems would be resolved and that his government had taken measures to create jobs for educated Kuchi tribesmen.
