ISLAMABAD (PAN-led airstrikes that killed around 24 army soldiers in the Mohmand tribal region.
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar told journalists in Islamabad only Parliament was the right forum to review the government’s decisions on a blockade of supplies to NATO-led troops and participation in the 2nd Bonn Conference on Afghanistan‘s future.
Earlier in the day, the upper house unanimously passed a resolution, condemning the deadly International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) airstrikes on Pakistani check-posts near the Afghanistan border.
Opposition leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri tabled the resolution that said the nation would stand united for the country’s defence in the event of foreign aggression. It added the resolutions on drone attacks and the war on terror should also be implemented.
Speaking in the house, Khar said it had become difficult for Pakistan to remain on the same page with the United States after the ISAF raids. The decision on boycotting the Bonn conference was well thought out and there was no possibility of reversing it.
