    240 students, teachers complete cricket training (Video)

    NANGARHAR, Dec 04, 2011: More than 240 students and their teachers completed a week-long cricket training course in eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday, officials said.

    Students and teachers from schools in Jalalabad and Behsud district attended the camp, a joint venture of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Afghan Education Ministry.

    UNICEF spokesman for the eastern zone, Aziz Frotan, told Pajhwok Afghan News the training was imparted by 40 male and female coaches to 200 girls and boys and 20 women.

    Former national cricket team skipper and UNICEF goodwill ambassador for Afghanistan, Raees Ahmadzai, shouldered responsibility for the training programme, he said.
