Nimroz residents unhappy with MPs (Video)

NIMROZ, Dec 12, 2011: Some residents of the southwestern province of Nimroz accuse their MPs of failing to keep their promises.

Nimroz has two seats in Wolesi Jirga, or lower house of Parliament. One of the seats is reserved for a woman, but in the last Parliamentary election female candidates won both seats.

Some Nimroz residents claim their MPs have done nothing for the past one year.

A resident of provincial capital Zaranj told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Nimroz MPs promised during their campaigns to build the Kamal Khan dam and to provide clean water, security, and health facilities. But after winning election, he said, the MPs cut ties with their constituents.
