ASADABAD (PAN): Sixty-one development projects worth 61 million afghanis were completed and inaugurated in eastern Kunar province, an official said on Sunday.
The projects were completed in Dangam, Pich Dara, Savkai, Khas Kunar, Chapadara, Asmar, Nari, Ghaziabad and Shigal districts and Asadabad city under the National Solidarity Programme (NSP), an NSP official, Eng. Mir Zaman, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said about 5000 families would benefit from the facilities including water heads, canals, pipes for potable water, electricity, water tanks, roads and bathrooms.
Of 1,891 projects approved for the province this year, 1,270 had been completed, he said.
"Uplift projects will help bring security to the province," resident Maulvi Abdul Wahid said.
Governor Syed Fazlullah Wahidi called the executed projects as important to benefit local people. He asked residents to take care of the projects.
