KABUL (PAN): President Hamid Karzai on Sunday asked the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) commander in Afghanistan, Gen. John Allen, to prevent foreign forces from raiding Afghan houses during night.
This he said while chairing a meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) at the Presidential Palace in central Kabul to discuss a recent raid on the house of a senior counternarcotics official in southeastern Paktia province.
The raid left a female family member of the official dead and four others females injured.
A statement issued from the palace, said the ISAF Commander apologised over the incident and conveyed his condolence to the Afghan government and people.
The statement quoted Karzai as saying night raids by Afghan and foreign forces were creating problems for his government and the traditional Loya Jirga had also called for the raids to be stopped.
