Accidents & Disasters9 injured in Samangan crash
By Mohammad Barat Dec 25, 2011 - 16:04AIBAK (PAN): Nine people sustained injuries in a collision in Aibak, the capital of northern Samangan province, on Sunday, an official said.
The incident happened in the Hassan Khel village where a passenger coach collided with a jeep, traffic officer Lt. Col. Mohammad Ibrahim told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The injured were taken to a health facility, he said, blaming the accident on reckless driving in icy conditions.
The coach driver, Firyzodin, who escaped unhurt, accused the jeep driver of irresponsible driving.
A doctor on duty at the provincial hospital, Dr. Gul Ahmad Quraishi, confirmed receiving nine injured people. He said four critically wounded people were referred to a hospital in northern Balkh province.
