ISAF spy plane makes emergency landing
By Daud Tapan Dec 27, 2011 - 14:21GARDEZ (PAN): An unmanned spy plane of the International Security and Assistance Forces (ISAF) made an emergency landing in the Ahmadabad district of southeastern Paktia province on Tuesday, officials said.
The landing came after the aircraft developed some technical fault in the Feroz dessert at around 12 noon, the governor's spokesman, Roohullah Samoon, told Pajhwok Afghan News. He said police had reached the site.
A statement from the ISAF media office in Kabul confirmed the incident, saying NATO-led forces had arrived at the scene and were trying to repair the aircraft.
A witness, Sharifullah, said the plane lost balance in the air and then went down. But a Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed the fighters had shot down the plane.
