SAR-I-PUL (PAN and Afghan officials said on Friday.

The chopper went down due to technical problems in the Pusht Bagh area of Sayad district at about 1am, the deputy police chief of the province said.

Col. Jehangir Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News a pilot of the NATO-led force was wounded in the incident in the area, where an American military training centre is located.

Sayad district chief, Amir Hussain, verified the crash, saying the incident caused no loss of life or property. The copter came down immediately after takeoff, he added.

But the ISAF said the aircraft made a precautionary landing after it experienced mechanical problems. The crew made the landing in accordance with standard emergency procedures.

It added the crew was recovered unharmed and the aircraft shifted to a local Forward Operating Base without incident.  There were no reports of enemy engagement or activity in the area.
