KABUL militants were detained during an operation in southern Helmand and Kandahar provinces, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Sunday.
The operation conducted by police was carried out in Kandmak village of Washir district, the ministry said in a statement.
It said three machineguns, four AK-47 assault rifles, two rockets, two walkie-talkies, a motorbike, one vehicle and some ammunition were also seized.
Elsewhere in the province, two drugs producing laboratories were destroyed in GhambazvillageofNawzaddistrict, the statement said. One suspect was detained in connection with the drugs.
In two separate operations in Panjwai and Maiwand districts of Kandahar and Kajaki district of Helmand led to the seizure of over 1,750 kilograms heroines and two phones, the statement said.
