Eleven suspected militants were killed when Pakistani gunship helicopters attacked their hideouts in the Jogi area of Kuram agency, security officials said.
A local security official said the air raid came after a group of militants attacked a security post in the area. In retaliation, the security forces destroyed several trenches of the militants.
Elsewhere, seven people were killed when two armed militant groups clashed in Khyber agency, officials said.
The gun-battle between gunmen loyal to Thawheed-ul-Islam and Lashkar-i-Islam took place in the remote Tirah valley, Muhammad Nabi, a local official, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Five others were injured in the incident, he said.
