Four militants held in Herat
Three Taliban fighters, hailing from Gulran district, were collecting Oshar, a 10th part of an agricultural production, and Zakat from local residents, when they were caught red-handed by National Directorate of Security (NDS) official, the NDS said in a statement.
The detainees had confessed on their crime, saying they had been tasked with the collection by a Taliban-designated commander for the district, Maulvi Abdul Hai, the statement said.
A rocket launcher and a Kalashnikov were also recovered from the detainees, it added.
Separately, another insurgent loyal to Maulvi Hassan, accused of planting roadside bombs and other disruptive activities in Shindand district, was detained, the statement said.
