CHAGHCHARAN (PAN): Two policemen were killed and a third injured in infighting in the western province of Ghor, officials said on Saturday.

One official was killed and another wounded when a policeman turned his gun at his colleagues after a verbal clash on Friday, a source confided to Pajhwok Afghan News.

The attacker was killed by other policemen as he tried to flee, said the police, who did not want to be named. The injured was taken to a district hospital and his condition is stated to be stable.

Deputy police chief, Col. Abdul Rashid, confirmed the shooting, saying the cause of the incident was yet to be known, but a delegation had been appointed to investigate the issue.
