Workshop for Zabul journalists concludes

QALAT (PAN): A week-long workshop aimed training local journalists concluded in southern Zabul province on Saturday, an official said.

Funded by the provincial reconstruction team, the workshop the first of its kind in Qalat, was organised by the Bost Cultural Foundation.

Director of Information and Culture Bismillah Lodin said 18 journalists, including two women, received basic professional training at the workshop.

He said the PRT had been requested to sponsor more training events for grooming media professionals in the province. A print media designing programme will begin shortly.

A participant of the workshop told Pajhwok Afghan News they were taught the fundamentals of news making, interview and reportage.

Najibullah, a Radio Liberty reporter in Zabul, acknowledged receiving valuable information about core journalistic principles and professional ethics.
