Afghan soldier wounds US counterparts

QALAT (PAN): An Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier on Sunday opened fire on US troops, wounding two of them in the southern province of Zabul, an official said.

The shooting took place at the 205th Atal Military Corps playground, ANA spokesman Pamiri told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The attacker, with possible links to militants, was killed on the spot by NATO-led soldiers, he said. An investigation has been launched into the incident.

In Kabul, the International Security Assistance Force media office confirmed the incident. It said details would be released once the investigation was completed.
