KHOST CITY (PAN): An eight years old child was killed as a result of a suicide bombing in southeastern Khost province on Sunday, officials said.

The attack happened at 5 pm in the Shahid Arifullah square of the provincial capital, police chief, Brig. Gen. Sardar Mohammad Zazai, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the bomber wanted to attack a police check-post in the area, but his suicide vest exploded before he could reach his target.

Khost Civil Hospital Director Dr. Hidayatullah Hamidi said they had received two dead bodies and an injured man. He stated the condition of the injured was stable.
