QALAT (PAN): Seven Taliban militants were detained during a clash with police in the Shahr-i-Safa district of southern Zabul province, an official said on Wednesday.
The clash erupted in Arhad Manda area on the Kabul-Kandahar highway, where the militants attacked police, said the administrative head of Shahr-i-Safa district.
Khadi Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News the detainees included to wounded militants who were evacuated to a health facility in the area.
But a doctor on duty at the provincial hospital, wishing anonymity, claimed receiving two injured policemen.
Separately, Afghan National Army (ANA) troops seized weapons and ammunitions during an operation over the past 24 hours in the southeastern zone, the 203rd Military Crops said.
A statement from the military corps said the offensives were carried in Zurmat and Garda Sirai districts of Paktia and Nadir shah Kot and Sabari districts of Khost province.
The weapons and ammunitions included four AK-47 rifles, seven landmines, 19 hand grenades, 13 artillery shells, a machine gun, a pistol and bullets.
