PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): Two people were killed and as many wounded during a clash in the central province of Logar, officials said on Saturday.
The clash erupted after two families exchanged hot words over an old dispute on a piece of land in the Qala-i-Qadir area of Baraki Barak district late on Friday evening.
Mohammad Rahim Amin, the town's administrative head, told Pajhwok Afghan News two people were killed and as many injured when the situation turned violent.
No one had so far been detained in connection with the incident, but police had launched an investigation into the shooting, police chief said.
Brig. Gen. Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewanai said the injured were evacuated to Kabul in critical condition.
“The two families had a long-running land dispute, but they had never entered an armed clash before,” said a resident of the area, Jamil.
