65-km roads asphalted in Ghazni
GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Asphalting of roads measuring nearly 65 kilometres has been completed in southern Ghazni province since March, the governor said on Sunday.
Musa Khan Akbarzada said the projects executed in the provincial capital and districts were jointly funded by the USAID, Poland and the US Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT).
Costing $20 million, the projects included the construction of roads in Ghazni City, Waghaz and Jaghatu districts, he added.
Waghaz district chief, Mohammad Azim, said the road in his district would ensure an uninterrupted supply of farm products to the market.
Haji Taj Mohammad, a resident, said previously they had to face numerous problems taking patients to hospital and bringing home daily-use commodities.
The governor also promised constructing more roads in the province next year.
