Major reconstruction projects next year: Nuristani
JALALABAD (PAN): Nuristan Governor Tamim Nuristani said on Tuesday the next solar year would be a year of progress in terms of reconstruction projects for residents of the eastern province.
Forty school buildings and four major roads would be constructed in the provincial capital, Paroon, and eight districts next year, Nuristani told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said his government would focus on education and communications sectors as part of the development strategy for Nuristan. The Ministry of Public Works, international forces and aid agencies have promised funds for the projects.
Provincial council chief, Qazi Inayatullah Mazhabyar, said the governor's house had prepared an effective reconstruction plan for the upcoming year. "I wish I could travel by road from one district to another," he remarked, referring to lack of the road network in the province.
