MAHMOOD RAQI (PAN): Four children were killed and two others injured in a warhead explosion in central Kapisa province, an official said on Sunday.

The explosion happened in the Aroki area of Mahmood Raqi, where some children were playing with the warhead, the governor's spokesman said.

Qais Qadri told Pajhwok Afghan News the unexploded device had been buried in the area since the jihad against the former Soviet Union.

Haji Fida Mohammad, who lost one of his children to the explosion, said: "My son was plying along with other children when the warhead went off."
