First-ever snow rugby event held in Kabul
KABUL (PAN): The Kabul United trounced Rahmani Club 24-5 in a friendly snow rugby match at the Golf Ground at Qargha on Tuesday, the first-ever encounter of its kind in Afghanistan's history.
The Afghanistan Rugby Federation said on 50 centimetres of snow made players from both sides even more eager to emerge winners.
Snow rugby is commonly played in wintery conditions, particularly deep snow, in South America, Canada, Kashmir, Latvia and northern USA.
"From now on, it will be played in Afghanistan too," said Asad Ziar, the chief executive officer of the federation, whose officials praised the players' spirit.
