MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): A 25-year-old woman gave birth to six children at a hospital in northern Balkh province, with doctors saying the mother and children are in good health.

A doctor at the Balkh Civil Hospital, Abdul Rauf Farogh, told Pajhwok Afghan News the children included three boys and as many girls. The condition of one baby was a bit worrisome due low weight, he said.

It was the woman's first pregnancy, one and a half year after she was married. Her husband, Nasrullah, was happy to become a father of six. Before the delivery, he said, an ultra-sound showed his wife had four children in her womb, but she gave birth to sextuplets.
