KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): A hundred budding cricketers from Zabul and Uruzgan provinces were provided training by the Loba Sports Training Organisation (LSTO) in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Thursday.

The six-day training camp, arranged in collaboration with the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), concluded in provincial capital, Kandahar City.  Fifty players from each province attended the camp, the LSTO deputy director said.

Zarab Shah Zaheer told Pajhwok Afghan News former coaches of U-19 national team, Asadullah and Muhammad Alam Kandahari, taught the participants how to bat, bowl and field. The attendees were also given information on cricket.

"I knew little about cricket rules and techniques before the training programme. From now on, I will try to play cricket in line with professional techniques," said Allah Noor, a trainee.

Cricket uniforms, shoes and other equipment were also distributed to the participants. The LSTO has organised similar camps in Herat, Kunar, Parwan, Kapisa, Kabul, Nangarhar, Kunduz, Kandahar and Khost provinces.
