Child dead in Daikundi blast
By Syed Ghulam Jan 29, 2012 - 16:02NEILI (PAN): A 12-year-old child was killed and two others were injured in a landmine explosion in the Khadir district of central Daikundi province, an official said on Sunday.
The incident took place late on Saturday in the Kiti village, where the children were playing football, the administrative head of the district told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Hajji Abdul Qadir Haideri said the explosives had been placed inside a ball. However, he provided no other details about the explosion.
Acting police chief, Col. Asif, confirmed the incident, saying that an investigative team had been sent to the district.
