Security and Crime32 militants killed in Helmand offensive
By Zainullah Stanikzai Feb 13, 2012 - 16:21LASHKARGAH (PAN): Thirty-two rebels were killed and 10 others wounded during separate incidents over the past week in western Helmand province, the Afghan military said on Monday.
The Afghan army commando unit conducted the operation in Marja, Kajaki, Sangin and Greshk districts of the province, where 12 militants were killed and a heroin laboratory destroyed.
A statement from the 215th Maiwand Millatry Crops said 390 kilograms of opium, 149 kilograms of acid, 45 kilograms of hashish, 70 kilograms of materials used in heroin and some weapons were seized.
Another 20 militants were killed, 10 wounded and a drugs laboratory destroyed in Sangin district, according to the statement.
