    ISAF helicopter crashes in Sarobi

KABUL (PAN): An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) helicopter crashed in the Sarobi district of central Kabul province on Saturday, an official said.

The incident took place around noon in the Uzbin Mountains near the Baad Pakh district of neighbouring Laghman province, the Sarobi district chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Further details would be revealed after an investigation into the crash was completed, Hazrat Mohammad Haqbeen said, adding a team had been sent to the scene.

There was no immediate report of casualties in the crash that happened at around 10:30am, said a resident of the area, Sahar. The site was cordoned off by foreign troops.

“We are aware of the claims that a helicopter crashed somewhere along the border region between Kabul and Laghman provinces today,” the NATO-led force said.

In response to an emailed query from Pajhwok, the ISAF media office said they were looking into the claims. “However, we have no operational reports to indicate that any ISAF aircraft has been lost.”
