Imposter collects sensitive info from key offices (Video)

KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): A man posing as a member of the Meshrano Jirga (upper house of Parliament) collected sensitive information from government departments in southern Kandahar province, a lawmaker said on Saturday.

Senator Bismillah Afghanmal told a press conference in Kandahar City the imposter, identified as Mohammad Asif Sarhadi, had got away with important information from key government departments.

Sarhadi, who introduced himself as member of the Senate Defence Commission and a resident of Ghor province to local officials, later travelled to Maroof and Dand districts, where he collected sensitive information from the National Directorate of Security office, police headquarters and information and culture department.

Since the upper house had no member by the name of Sarhadi, Afghanmal said, it was a matter of great concern that the imposter had been able to enter sensitive departments. He added the incident also showed inefficiency of the departments concerned.
