    2,800 policemen complete training

KABUL (PAN): More than 2,800 policemen received certificates on completing six-month professional training in Kabul on Wednesday.

About 500 of the police recruits were trained in Turkey, while the rest graduated from training centres in Maidan Wardak, Balkh and Kandahar provinces.

Interior Minister Gen. Bismillah Mohammadi called the graduation a good step toward policemen’s capacity that would help the security transition process.

The first and second phases of transition, supported by the Afghan nation and government, had been completed successfully and the third stage was underway, he added.

The transition process could be successfully completed only when Afghan forces were self-sufficient, trained and equipped.
