JALALABAD (PAN): Up to 350 border police officials completed a two-month training course in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Thursday.
The sergeants received graduation certificates on completing the course at the Pachiragam training centre, Col. Mohammad Ayub, a senior border police officer, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the policemen had learnt valuable skills from professional trainers of using weapons and safeguarding their country.
“The 1st zone border police are capable of defending the country’s borders. I hope the new graduates will perform their duties well and coordinate with people,” he added.
Samiullah, a resident of Laghman province and one of the graduates, was happy with the training programme, saying his aim to join border police was to defend the country’s frontiers.
“Most of my friends had told me to join the national police, but I preferred the border force because they are good in terms of border controls.”
