TIRINKOT (PAN militants were killed and three others arrested in the Chori district of central Uruzgan province on Sunday, an official said.
The incident took place at around 5 am in Kashi area of the district, where police security post came under attack, district police chief, Namatullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said one policeman was killed and another injured in the attack. The clash lasted for several hours, where Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers reached the scene for helping police.
A Taliban spokesman, Qari Yousaf Ahmad, confirmed the attack, but provides no details about the fatalities.
Separately, two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed and another injured during a remote controlled bomb explosion in eastern Kunar province, said, the ANA sixth battalion commander.
Lt. Col. Mohammad Turab said the explosion happened at around 5 pm in Gargs area of Manogai district on Sunday, where the ANA vehicle was passing the area.
The injured were shifted to the health facilities. There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.
