KABUL and central Daikundi provinces, an official said on Sunday.
An agreement for the multiple surveys was inked between Japan’s Ambassador Reiichiro Takahashi, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) representative Laurent Zessler and Habibullah Mowahid, deputy director of Central Statistic department.
The survey would be conducted during the upcoming solar year by central statistic department and UNFPA, which is expected to take year to complete, Esmatullah Ramzi statistical adviser at the department, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the survey would focus on population size, gender, age, mortality and birth rates, unemployment, displaced people and economic status of the people in the respective provinces.
While terming the program as a positive gesture, Ramzi said Japan financed a similar survey worth $2 million that was ongoing in central Bamyan province.
