Chaired by President Karzai, Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) officials highlighted Afghan traders’ problems with neighbouring countries at the meeting, the Presidential Palace said in a statement.
The participants also presented suggestions for solution to traders’ problems.
After hearing from the traders, President Karzai ordered ministries of finance, commerce and industries, economy and the economic committee of ministers, headed by second vice president, Karim Khalili, to hold regular meetings with of ACCI officials on finding solution to their problems.
“The real growth of Afghanistan’s economy is linked to the development of the private sector, which can be supported and strengthened by the government”, Karzai said, insisting on monthly meetings between traders and the officials concerned.
