EU to fund training courses for the disabled

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): The European Union (EU) has agreed to provide more than 1.9 million euros (123 million afs) in aid for training programmes for 1,000 disabled people from six provinces of Afghanistaninfo-icon

An agreement to the effect was signed between Minister of Labour, Social, Martyr and Disabled Affairs  Ameena Afzali and Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) head Andres Stepson in Kabul on Sunday. 

The training courses will help provide work opportunities for the disabled and go a long way in their capacity building.

Najibullah Yazdan Panah, representing the SCA, said the project would be implemented in Ghazni, Wardak, Logar, Nangarhar, Kunduz and Laghman provinces by the end of 2013.
