KABUL’s southern and western regions, the alliance said on Sunday.
One soldier died following an improvised explosive device (IED) strike in southern Afghanistan, while the other was killed in an insurgent attack in the country’s western part, brief statements from the NATO-led force said.
In line with its policy, ISAF neither revealed the nationalities of the dead soldiers, nor the exact locations of the incidents. Mostly US and British troops are deployed to Afghanistan’s south and west.
So far during the current year, 87 foreign troops, including 51 Americans, have been killed in Afghanistan. Last year, 566 ISAF soldiers lost their lives across the country.
Meanwhile, the Italian Defence Ministry announced that one of their soldiers was killed in western Afghanistan on Saturday.
