Karzai briefs Lithuanian FM on transition

KABUL): President Hamid Karzai on Wednesday briefed visiting Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Azubalis on security transition from international troops to Afghan forces.

He also hailed Lithuanian troops for the valuable role they were playing in areas of security and reconstruction province, the Presidential Palace said in a statement.

Lithuania has 188 troops based in Ghor under command of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force.
