Most of the foreign soldiers deployed to the Taliban’s southern heartland are Americans, who have borne the brunt of NATO casualties during the decade-long conflict.
With the latest fatality, the number of foreign soldiers killed in Afghanistan this year has risen to 102. Last year, 556 ISAF troops were killed in the country.
