Pakistan condemns assaults on Afghan cities

The Taliban on Sunday launched simultaneous attacks in Kabul, Gardez, the capital of southeastern Paktia, Logar and eastern Nangarhar province, sparking fierce clashes with security forces.

“We extend our deep sympathies to Afghan brothers and sisters in the wake of these new attacks. Pakistan condemns terrorism in its all forms,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.

It quoted Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar as saying the Pakistanis shared the grief with the affected families and that her government would continue to fight terrorist forces together with the Afghans.
