1 dead, 4 injured in Laghman collision

MEHTARLAM (PAN): One person was killed and four others injured when a car crashed into another car in eastern Laghman province on Friday, traffic officials said.

The collision occurred at 8am in Char Dahi area on the outskirts of Mehtarlam, the capital city, the traffic department head said.

Maj. Abdul Samad told Pajhwok Afghan News one of the cars was on its way from Mehtarlam to Jalalabad city of neighbouring Nangarhar and the other coming to Mehtarlam.

Blaming the incident on careless driving and traffic rules violations, the official said all the victims belonged to Laghman.

Public Health Director Dr. Abdul Latif Qayumi confirmed one dead body and four wounded people were brought to Laghman Civil Hospital, saying the injured are in stable condition.
