KABUL): Noted tribal elders from central Logar province on Tuesday urged President Hamid Karzai to allot land to nomadic Kuchis in all provinces of the country, the Presidential Palace said.

At a meeting with the president, the elders also called speeding up the reconstruction campaign across the nation, and warned of increased problems in Logar if all Kuchis were given land in the province.

While demanding special attention to the promotion education and power sectors in the province, they also stressed the need for launching extraction work at the Ainak Copper Project.

Karzai assured the elders that their problems would be discussed threadbare at the next Cabinet meeting, to be attended by legislators from Logar and the provincial governor. The participants will explore ways of rectifying the situation.
