KABUL (PAN): Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) Mohammad Asif Rahimi on Tuesday announced that numerous projects costing $14.2 million (710.7 million afs) would be implemented in Kabul.
Speaking at a joint press conference with the Kabul mayor and provincial council head, Rahimi said his ministry also planned projects for all the 34 provinces of the country to improve the quality and yield of agricultural products.
The schemes included protection of forests, construction of water reservoirs, setting up fish farms and promoting saffron cultivation, he said, explaining that $10.8 million would be provided by the ministry from its development budget and the rest by donors.
Rahimi added that work on the construction of cold storages, greenhouses, food-processing centres and farmer capacity-building centres would be implemented this year.
