KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Police found on Wednesday a mine-clearing vehicle that the insurgents hijacked in southern Kandahar province, officials said.
The Taliban torched one vehicle and hijacked another on Tuesday, when a group of deminers was busy clearing the Makyan area between Daman and Takha Pul districts.
The insurgents also took away trained dogs and equipment, but the workers are safe, Haji Siraj Ahmad, the Daman district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Javed Faisal, the governor’s spokesman, border police found the vehicle in Takhta Pul district on Wednesday morning. He gave no further details.
