KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): Various reconstructioninfo-icon projects including the construction of a road, started in eastern Nuristan province during the visit of ministers of finance and public welfare on Saturday, an official said.

Spokesman of Ministry of Finance, Wahidullah Tawhidi, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Dr Hazrat Omer Zakhelwal, Finance Minister, Najibullah Ojan the Public Welfare Minister and officials of US Embassy in Kabul, visited the province.

Those officials along with the governor Tamim Nuristani inaugurated a number of projects, Tawhidi said, adding that construction work of a 46 kilometers long road, which was stopped four years ago was also restarted.

He further said that works on remaining 22 km of the road would be completed in a year and project’s costs of $6 million (300 million afs) would be provided by the Ministry of Public Welfare.

Other projects included construction of a hospital building, governor’s guest house, a dam and building of an institute, the spokesman said.

According to Tawhidi, the finance minister and the visiting delegation listened to the people’s problems in the province and promised that government would address their issues.
