AIBAK (PAN): Five people were killed and a sixth wounded when a car collided with a fuel tanker in western Samangan province on Wednesday, officials said.

The accident took place in Taigah Shah area on the outskirts of Aibak city, the provincial capital, traffic officer, Col. Noorullah told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The victims, all occupants of the car, belonged to northern Kunduz province, he said, adding the tanker’s driver had been arrested.

According to Shafiullah Amari, the provincial civil hospital head, five dead bodies and an injured person were brought to the hospital. The injured is in a critical condition, he said.
