QALAT/PUL-I-ALAM (PAN institute for high school graduates was inaugurated in southern Zabul province, while the foundation stone of a hostel and a dining hall in another agriculture high school in central Logar was laid on Wednesday, officials said.
Najeebullah, an official at the Zabul education department, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Ministry of Higher Education ordered the construction of the agriculture institute earlier this year. He added 100 students would be given admissions and professional teachers hired at the facility.
Mohammad Omar, a student, said the inauguration was important to enable students of the province to continue their education.
Meanwhile, construction work on buildings for a hostel and a dining hall at an agriculture high school was launched in central Logar province, said Abdul Mateen Jafar, the education department head.
The project would take nine months to complete at a cost of $ 6,000 (300,000 afs) provided by the Provincial Reconstruction), Jafar added.
